Some of my personal favorite sights include observing orca whales, exploring the Capilano Bridge, cycling through Stanley Park, exploring the Van Dussel Botanical Garden and Queen Elizabeth Park, taking a leisurely walk around Grouse Mountain, and enjoying a meal at Granville Island.

The primary arts hub of the city, which regularly hosts various temporary exhibitions offering intriguing displays. During my visit, I had the pleasure of viewing a stunning exhibition featuring the gardens of Van Gogh.

The biggest botanical park in the city is definitely worth a visit. The gardens are stunning, meticulously maintained, and feature a delightful jelly maze.

Grouse Mountain is a popular outdoor destination located close to the city. Visitors have the option to hike up the mountain or take a tram to reach the top for skiing, snow activities, or ziplining during the summer.

In less than half an hour’s drive from downtown Vancouver, Deep Cove is a must-visit destination for hiking enthusiasts and water sports lovers. The sheltered bay is ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding, with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains.
On stable land, a path guides visitors to the bay’s edge for a stunning view of this hidden oasis near Vancouver. Charming cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating in the nearby shopping area captivate those passing by, while local artisan shops welcome visitors with open doors.
One suggestion is to arrive in the morning for outdoor activities, then take a break and have lunch at the center’s restaurants. It’s a good idea to make reservations in advance for kayaks and stand up paddle boards, especially because the place is usually busy on weekends.
Stanley Park is a famous public park located in Vancouver.
One of the biggest urban parks globally and a key attraction in Vancouver, Stanley Park offers excellent opportunities for biking, walking, and enjoying the sunset during the spring and summer. The sun sets over the ocean, creating a beautiful color display in the late afternoon. A fantastic suggestion is to have a picnic to fully appreciate this magical moment.
The scenery at Stanley Park is delightful as well. Situated at the tip of the downtown peninsula, one can admire the four different sides of Vancouver. Looking north, one can see the iconic Lyon’s Gate Bridge. To the south are beaches that offer a view of the canal. Stretching from east to west, there are 400 hectares of protected forests, pathways, sports fields, ancient trees, and lakes that create the park’s landscape.
Furthermore, exploring Vancouver by bike is a must-do activity, with numerous rental shops conveniently located near the park entrance. Inside Stanley Park, visitors can also find the Vancouver Aquarium, home to over 50,000 marine species and various ocean conservation initiatives.

Living in Downtown means being able to walk to everything or use public transportation. It offers top-notch shops, malls, and charming restaurants, and it’s only a short distance from Stanley Park. However, long-term accommodation in Downtown can be costly.
Avoid staying in Chinatown, particularly on Hastings St, as it is an unsafe area of the city. North and West Vancouver are picturesque neighborhoods with abundant greenery, situated near Capilano, Grouse Mountain, and Lynn Valley parks. However, they are a 30-minute drive away from Downtown. If relying on public transport, it is not recommended to stay in these neighborhoods, as you may encounter difficulties reaching the city center due to limited bus schedules.
In close proximity to the city center, the Kitsilano, Mt Pleasant, and East Side areas offer affordable lodging options while remaining just a short distance from downtown. These neighborhoods feature delightful accommodations and are predominantly residential areas where many locals reside.

Alternatively, you can go skiing in Whistler or witness the Northern Lights in the Rocky Mountains and nearby areas at this time of year.
