This national treasure is a part of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and attracts visitors from around the world who come to witness the stunning power and beauty of the falls.
Text: The park is split between Brazil and Argentina, offering unique experiences on each side with different views of the falls and access to smaller cascades. I suggest dedicating a day to each side as they are not the same and both are worth visiting.

Text:3 – Moonlit Bike Ride or Evening at the Waterfall

chsyys/Burst
Visiting the Iguaçu Falls at night is a truly enchanting experience. Even if you have seen the impressive waterfalls many times before, the nighttime visit will make it feel like a brand new sight. It is a natural spectacle that occurs every night with no audience, with the moonlight transforming the landscape into a picturesque scene.
The event called ‘Night in the Falls’ takes place every Saturday on the Brazilian side and offers two entry times: 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. The tour features a vibrant and special welcome gathering with live music and a complimentary drink at the Naipi Space. Those wanting to participate in this unique experience should secure their ticket beforehand as spots are limited.
The ‘Full Moon Pass’ occurs on the Argentine side five nights per month during the full moon, offering three entry times at 7:45, 8:30, and 9:15. The ticket includes a guide in English or Spanish and train transportation within the park. It is important to note that the tour may be canceled due to weather conditions.
The two tickets are available for purchase individually, and the price is uniform for foreigners, Brazilians, and residents of Foz, unlike the day pass. You can buy each ticket on the official website of the respective park.
Bicycle excursion at Iguaçu National Park

Considering offering visitors a deeper connection with nature, the park allows those interested to cycle the 11 km route from the main entrance to the trailhead, which offers stunning views of the waterfalls.
The trail is immersed in nature and frequently attracts visits from various wild animals such as toucans, anteaters, and occasionally jaguars – although encounters with jaguars are rare. 😉
You have the option to either independently rent a bike, enlist the services of a local agency for a bike ride, or make an online booking via Civitatis.

“The fifth text is about the pathways within Iguaçu Park.”
Did you know that in addition to the Iguaçu Falls, there are other waterfalls in the area that are tucked away in nature? This is why there are paths within and around the park that lead visitors near these hidden gems, providing a serene experience away from the crowds and surrounded by lush vegetation.
It is feasible to book this tour through local tourism agencies or via the Civitatis platform. There are two route choices available, with one being longer than the other. Both routes offer plenty of fun and opportunities to get wet. 😉

The Parque das Aves is located near the entrance of Iguaçu National Park and is often visited on the same day as the Brazilian side of Iguaçu Falls. The park features a vast area with native birds, some of which are endangered. Visitors can explore open and enclosed aviaries, a butterfly house, a café, a gift shop, and various photography spots.
Each nursery is equipped with informative signs indicating the species housed within. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to feed the birds at certain locations, providing a one-of-a-kind and enjoyable experience.
I especially enjoyed the toucans and macaws nursery. It is a spacious area, enclosed by native trees and plants, teeming with wildlife and natural sounds. Both adults and children will have a great time in this area.

The grandeur and magnificence of the concrete dam are heightened when it is lit up in the darkness, creating a truly unique sight that can be fully appreciated.
Prior to the weekly event that takes place on Friday and Saturday nights, guests view a video detailing the hydroelectric’s history. This is followed by an energetic soundtrack that captivates those anticipating the upcoming light show.
There are 747 reflectors and 112 luminaires that illuminate in perfect harmony with the music. The energy used for this lighting could light up a city with 15 thousand residents, showcasing the magnitude of this moment.

The tour is available during the day or at night and includes a variety of attractions and engaging activities in both indoor and outdoor settings. It’s worth noting that stargazing with the naked eye is subject to weather conditions.

Refuge Bela Vista, a biological sanctuary.

chsyys/DepositPhotos

The Bela Vista Biological Refuge serves as a sanctuary designed to protect and conserve numerous plant and animal species that were forced out of their original habitats due to the reservoir construction of a power plant. The guided tour places a significant emphasis on environmental education, beginning with visitors participating in the planting of native tree seeds to promote conservation efforts.
The tour starts at the main entrance of Itaipu, where you’ll travel part of the route in a small cart before walking 2 km through the native forest. Along the way, you may spot various local animals and plants native to the region.
The shelter is a project carried out by the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant and is the most successful initiative in preserving the environment of the triple frontier region. It offers a sustainable and mindful way to interact with wild animals. Notably, the shelter’s construction followed ecological architecture principles and relies solely on alternative energy sources.
I really enjoyed the visit and would recommend it to anyone interested in eco-tourism and wanting to learn about the local wildlife. It’s definitely worth it, especially when you get the chance to see baby black panthers up close! 😉
Tickets can be bought individually, without including the hydroelectric plant visit.

At the entrance, there is a small area featuring interesting information about the site. One notable example is the mention of the movie “The Mission” (1986), which showcases the Jesuit missions in Latin America and was filmed at the Iguaçu Falls.
This is the location of the Cabeza de Vaca restaurant, which I highly suggest you visit due to its exceptional service and tasty cuisine! When it comes to the performances, there is little to add other than to say: enjoy! They are impeccably executed, featuring traditional attire, vibrant dances, and a lot of charm. It’s impossible not to be captivated.

Foz do Iguaçu is a diverse city located between two countries and is home to the largest Islamic community in Brazil. As a result, it is not unexpected that the Omar Ibn Al-Khatab Mosque, the second largest in Latin America, has become a popular destination for tourists.
The mosque, similar to all Muslim places of worship, is embellished with arabesques, precisely designed geometric shapes, and numerous pieces of religious abstract art, resulting in a truly beautiful architectural masterpiece.
Upon arrival, both men and women are expected to wear appropriate attire, including head coverings, and are then escorted to view a video on Islamic culture and religion. Following this, the group is led into the Mosque where they can freely explore and admire the architectural details.
Furthermore, along the same street where the attraction is located, there are traditional shops, restaurants, and dessert spots that are worth a visit. As a fan of Arabic pastries, I was very pleased with the delicious taste and excellent service.

I enjoyed visiting this location to capture stunning photographs, as it is meticulously maintained and provides fantastic backdrops for pictures.
It is important to note that the location is a bit far from the city center, which may lead to poor signal reception. I recommend coordinating the departure time with the driver in advance to avoid any communication issues.
